In this season, Ao Xue returns to the team and the team encounters a new obstacle as the master and disciples work together to fight the ancient dragon and the demons of the abyss. Meanwhile, Rulai and Wukong join forces to obtain the sword once left behind by Tishitian in the ruined capital, thus uncovering Tishitian's conspiracy as they battle the forces of evil alongside the righteous master, the Spirit of Light.
